Trained in and perfected through practice, the application of statistical and econometric methods to design and execute evaluations. I have also been trained and perfected by application, the use of qualitative and mixed methods as well as participatory approaches to evaluations and assessments including. In regard to application, I have designed and executed baseline studies, as well as mid-term and end-term evaluations. For example, I have designed and conducted, using mixed methods, rapid assessments to inform humanitarian action, as part of joint rapid response teams following rapid onset humanitarian situations in Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Yemen. I have also been a member of multi organizational taskforce to design and conduct Real Time Evaluations of drought response in Kenya and Somalia. Just a few examples of previous experiences in applying different methods as a technical lead include: the review of fragile states program in DRC using qualitative methods; several KAP, SMART and LQAS surveys to assess health, nutrition and livelihood programs in Kenya; outcome and impact evaluations using randomized control trials and difference in difference methods e.g. of post conflict emergency response by cash consortium of Iraq.
